Part of the "Folktales" series, this dark creation captures two figures in Taiwanese folklore, Sister Linkou and Aligagai. Sister Linkou is a woman spirit of a widow who after being cheated of her legacy and watching her children starve, hanged herself from a screw pine tree. The Aligagai are a monster race of giants believed by local tribes to destroy houses, terrorize women, and consume children.
